As we’ve pointed out quite a few times, Renee Zellweger is quite the kooky dresser. For events and appearances, she looks flawless and perfect, most likely clad in some sleek Carolina Herrera creation. But in those pap shots around town, she pretty much exudes less than one iota of stylish energy.

Here, for example, she’s toting a fashionable and classic black leather Prada bags, but her outfit does little justice to the wonderfully minimalist tote. Her outfit looks like it’s suited for light hiking, not walking around LA. That’s not to say that I’m opposed to hiking outfits- I rather enjoy hiking, but I don’t really wear that stuff around town (save for hiking socks, as they are wonderfully comfortable). I suppose I’m just a bit disturbed by the massive disparity in her outfit.

But why? Do I expect all celebrities to be impeccably fashionable at all times, even on the way to a delicatessen? As a fashion consumer, I think that my thought process is all wrong here, so I’m turning a new leaf- Renee’s style isn’t too rough, nor is it wrong, rather, it’s just uniquely Renee. At least her Herrera friendship has yielded many a spot on the best-dressed lists.
