PRADA BAG REVIEW THE SAFFIANO SOFT FRAME CLUTCH

Prada - Saffiano Soft Frame Clutch

I say a lot more negative things about Prada bags than I say positive, but I promise that I don’t have anything particular against the brand. In fact, my first “designer” bag was Prada handbags, and I still have fond memories of it.

They’ve been doing more wrong than right in most of their high-profile bags lately, but they still make some great stuff that doesn’t grab as many headlines. I got a chance to examine a bunch of their bags up close this weekend, and I was particularly taken with the classic lines and superb construction of the Prada Saffiano Soft Frame Clutch.

Actually, “particularly taken” would be an understatement of my feelings. I’m in love with it – deep, inconvenient, all-encompassing love that I didn’t expect to find for Prada bags. In my heart, that kind of love is usually reserved for Balenciaga or Valentino.

Please believe me when I say that the pictures don’t do this bag any sort of justice. I saw it in smooth black leather, which was ridiculously rich and perfect for this sort of oversized, take-anywhere, day-to-night clutch. It struck me as the sort of bag you’d look at and be able to tell that it was expensive, even if it had no logo. I’ll admit that it looks a bit boring in photos, but in your hand, it’s a great bag.

When I opened it up, I was even more pleased. The slightly retro, structured closure stands open to reveal a leather-lined interior with several pockets and enough space to hold more or less everything that you could put in a medium-sized shoulder bag. You probably wouldn’t want to fill it that full, but a little extra space in a clutch is never a bad thing.

Overall, I think I may have found the perfect clutch for me, and it was in one of the most unexpected places. Perhaps it was a cosmic reminder that in fashion, you should never count anyone out completely

PRADA HANDBAGS REVIEW THE NAPPAN ANTIQUE TOTE BAG

Prada Nappa Antique Tote Bag

Saks Fifth Avenue has a slew of  Prada handbags available for Pre-Order and one of them is the “Nappa Antique” Tote. When I first laid my eyes on this tote I was in love. Everything about this bag is stunning but the price of course. I’ve been looking for a cream colored handbag for quite some time now, and this is definitely one of the prettiest ones I have seen out of them all.

What I love about this bag is that it has that “old” look to it. I suppose that’s why “Antique” is featured in the name of the bag. The crinkled leather does make the bag kind of look like an antique, but I think that’s what makes it look so different. I also love the outside zipper sections on the top of the bag, even though that can be annoying sometimes. I’ve had bags with outside zipper sections, and closing them can be a pain sometimes. Annoying or not, the bag is drop dead gorgeous.

It may be kind of hard to keep a cream handbag clean, but I really do believe it’s worth a try. If you aren’t careful with your bags then you may not want to purchase this one. I’m dying to get a cream or vanilla bag for the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons and this one is definitely on my wish list.

The Prada purses  can be Pre-Ordered at Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,950. The prada bags is pretty expensive, but the beauty of this bag makes it worth it. I know if I had the extra cash I would Pre-Order one in a heart beat!

AMANDA SEYFRIEND HAS A RECURRING AFFECTION FOR PRADA BAG

prada bags amanda

Under normal conditions, I’m a bit apprehensive of anyone else named Amanda, as I believe I’ve mentioned here before. I feel like it’s my name, and it’s disorienting to hear it applied to others. Of course, I irrationally blame the other Amandas, when I should really just be blaming the universe.

Silly me! However, I just can’t bring myself to be suspicious of Amanda Seyfried – she just seems so normal and smart and nice. And also, she was in Mean Girls. That’s enough for me to give Lindsay Lohan a lifetime get-out-of-jail-free card, so it’s certainly enough to make me like another Amanda.

And this Amanda in particular seems to really, really like Prada bags  not that I can blame her. Not only do we have her here with the Prada handbags, and we’ve seen her previously with the Prada Bow Bag and a special edition Miu Miu tote, which I think still counts because they’re from the same parent company. Far be it from me to suggest she do anything differently.

NICOLE KIDMAN LOVES HER RED PRADA BAGS

 nicole-kidman-loves-her-red-prada-bag-003

We’ve written three times in the past two weeks about Nicole Kidman and her Prada Saffiano & Tessuto Tote Bag, and when a bag surfaces that much, it’s a bit difficult to figure out what’s left to say about it. When I got thinking about it, though, it seemed completely reasonable. She may have a staff, but she’s still a working woman with a small child and things to do, and switching out her handbag probably isn’t her priority. Come to think of it, I went almost a full year without carrying anything but a purple Balenciaga bag, and I have hardly any responsibilities.

I kind of like how the retro-looking bright prada bags pops against her retro-looking neutral dress, but the periwinkle patent shoes that you can see in a few of these pictures seem like a complete non sequitur to both of the other major elements of the outfit. It’s perhaps an indication that she does dress herself in day-to-day life instead of relying on outfits that a stylist puts together all the time, and for that I can’t help but like Nicole a little more than I used to.

NICOLE KIDMAN TRAVELS WITH PRADA SAFFIANO & TESSUTO TOTE BAG

nicole-kidman-travels-with-prada-and-her-hubby-006

Eeks. Nicole Kidman’s face is rather, errr, motionless. Every time I see pictures of her, she seems to be wearing that same, very same, exact smile. It’s like a smile that has been painted on. Now, I have no idea about how many rounds of botox or tightening she has endured, but geeze, it’s time to stop.

Ok, moving on. Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban were snapped as they arrived in London after a long flight from LA. Keith looks like he always does, kinda casual but kinda not. And Nicole, looks like she always does, very well put together and sophisticated. While I am not a fan of her hat, I am loving her Prada Saffiano & Tessuto Tote Bag. In fact, Nicole loves it too since we just saw her carrying it not that long ago.
